6:30am

6:30am and myself are not quite good friends. For good reason, as myself and 1am have became so acquainted, I definitely don't want to be awake this early!

One thing I need to remember in order to save some money: WHEN YOU DO THE WASHING - DO NOT LEAVE IT IN THE MACHINE! I have an 8kg washing machine! That's A LOT of water to waste and electricity and not to mention having to reuse the washing powder so everything doesn't stink! How wasteful! I really need to change my habits!

Tonight I am cooking chicken for dinner. I'm not sure what I'm doing with the chicken yet, will figure that out when I come home. I'll write the plan in terms of meals (Meat-wise), for the rest of the week:

Monday: Chicken legs (As just stated)
Tuesday: Lamb shanks
Wednesday: Sausages
Thursday: Pork loin chops
Friday: Chicken Infusions

I have to look up the catalogues today and price compare everything and write out my shopping list. I'm going to challenge myself, to stay under $150!! See how I go! Usually it ends up adding up pretty crazily, due to the fact that I also buy nappies and formula for my MIL's house (Where my children are during the week when I work). We'll see how we go!

This afternoon I have to go to my Nanna's house and pick up a christmas tree, she said she has around 5 of them, so instead of me buying one (What the hell happened to mine?!), I can just take one of hers, that's pretty good! =)

  1. Im trying to stay below $150 a week too! I think its a pretty realistic amount when you want to include fresh fruits and vegies and eat GOOD home cooked meals. Considering a takeaway meal is upto about $50 for the family, for one night - $150 for a weeks worth of food is a great amount to stick with :-)

Good luck with the week, looking forward to hearing how it goes! xo

  2. Hey! Yeah I think it's perfectly reasonable! As you say, we spend a shiteload on takeaways, $30.00 here, $20.00 there - it all adds up! I stayed under $150 and that was getting two boxes of nappies, wipes, fresh fruit, some meat (chicken), sandwhich meats and vegies! So I think I did pretty well! I also started my compost heap today! Hopefully from now on I won't have THAT much to put in there, seeing as I don't want to waste anymore!

Good luck to you too, my love! We're going to do it!
